Shawn Shepherd

Multidisciplinary artist Shawn Shepherd has taken part in various facets of the Canadian art scene for thirty years, as an art collector, art dealer, curator, art teacher, graphic designer, small book publisher, and art jurist. His paintings, sculptures and prints have been informed by art history, human identity, and the discards of commercial culture. Shepherd is a colourist with an emphasis on the object as he borrows materials and subject matter from various aspects of the urban environment around him to realize the concepts that inform his work. Shepherd’s latest work examines the juncture of art and the economy. He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria in 2019.
